How the Army built the ultimate H2F campus in Hawaii

How the Army built the ultimate H2F campus in Hawaii

As the Army sharpens its focus on the Indo-Pacific, it must prepare Soldiers for one of the world’s most demanding operational environments.

Jungle warfare presents unique challenges — from steep ravines and uneven footing to heat, humidity and heavy loads — requiring Soldiers to move efficiently under pressure.

To support mission readiness, U.S. Army units in Hawaii have invested in training environments that support Soldiers across a range of physical demands, from strength and conditioning to tactical mobility and marksmanship.

Let’s explore.

Pentagon Rig + AFT Field

A human performance space outside division headquarters building supports Soldier fitness, while sending a clear message: Readiness lives here.

This training environment repurposed two existing Performance Lockers with a new custom rig and Army Fitness Test turf lanes. The result is a space that meets everyday physical training and AFT preparation while making readiness a visible priority across the division.

Indoor Conversion

One brigade needed an upgraded gym to support H2F programming at the unit level.

BeaverFit converted an underutilized indoor space into a human performance facility designed around strength, conditioning and recovery requirements. The space features a 54-foot modular rig, modular storage racks, a robust cardio and accessory package, and rubber flooring.

By rethinking existing indoor space, the brigade gained a purpose-built training environment.

Outdoor Conversion

Another brigade converted a hangar into a covered outdoor training space, creating a dedicated Soldier Performance Readiness Center right beside the airfield.

The space features a durable, weather-resistant rig, outdoor-rated accessories and storage racks, and Hoplites turf lanes. The result is a functional training environment designed to support Soldiers and H2F programming in the unit’s operational footprint.

SunPro Training Environments

In addition to the airfield-adjacent SPRC, this brigade also invested in a SunPro training environment for strength and conditioning — which combines a Performance Locker, Cardio Locker and tension-fabric shelter.

This setup helps overcome constraints of space, equipment and training throughput, providing a dedicated area for purposeful training even when tropical weather rolls in.

Shred Shed

An outdoor environment featuring a Shred Shed and custom turf flooring provides a dedicated space for P3T programming.

Not every unit needs a full-scale container gym. The Shred Shed offers a practical alternative for teams that need a dedicated training area and equipment storage without a larger footprint.

With easy access to the equipment Soldiers need, the setup supports individual or group training while making efficient use of available space.

Inclined Skills Trainers

Human performance extends beyond traditional strength and conditioning. Tactical mobility also demands the ability to climb, navigate obstacles and move through challenging environments.

The Inclined Skills Trainer brings those demands into the unit footprint with a custom structure featuring ramps, steps and climbing stations.

The Army invested in two ISTs here. These training environments give Soldiers opportunities to develop strength, conditioning and movement skills through varied, multi-dimensional training.

Range Locker

Finally, a Range Locker expands the division’s training capabilities into the tactical marksmanship environment.

Designed to support basic and advanced marksmanship training, the Range Locker enables more dynamic shooting scenarios on an otherwise static range.

The custom configuration includes interior storage for range and human performance equipment, along with a rooftop platform featuring adjustable-incline shooting platforms. These platforms allow Soldiers to shoot from various roof pitch angles, adding complexity and variety to marksmanship and tactical training.

Building effective training environments starts with understanding the mission, the Soldiers who will use the space, and the capabilities they need to develop. Each training space the Army has created serves a specific purpose. Together, they give Soldiers more opportunities to prepare for the physical demands of their missions.

Whether you’re converting an existing facility, working within a limited footprint or building new tactical training capability, BeaverFit creates unique training environments that enable you to win. Because winning matters.
